WINDSPINNER  CARE
Proper care of your metal wind spinner will ensure that you receive years of enjoyment from your lawn and garden decor.
WINDSPINNER TIPS

PROTECTION

To protect the brilliant color of your classic windspinner, we recommend using a UV PROTECTANT. Spraying a UV Protectant on your metal wind spinner before placing it outdoors will insure that it keeps its brilliant colors for many years to come. Most Lawn and Garden Departments will carry UV Protectants. Just ask for a spray to protect your lawn and garden decor from fading in the sun. We recomend that you  clean and spray your metal wind spinners and other lawn and garden decor at the beginning of each year to help them keep their brilliant color .

FISHING SWIVEL

The swivel that comes with your Wind Spinner will wear out in time. A replacement can be found at any store that sells fishing supplies. If your swivel becomes stiff and hard to turn it is because it was meant to be used in the water. If you soak it in some oil for an hour or so to lubricate the bearing, it will spin more freely. A swivel containing ball bearings is highly recomended for extended life. Paying a little attention to the swivel of your wind spinner will provide you with hours of twirling, mezmerizing beauty.

SPINNING

In order to get the maximum enjoyment from your windspinner, it must spin. If air cannot easily go between the fins of the wind spinner, it will swing instead of spin. This means your wind spinner is flat. To maximize the spinning effect of your metal wind spinner, the fins will need to be spread apart. Begin spreading the fins by pushing the center from the first fin, leaving 1/4 to 1/2 inch  spacing. Continue spacing the other fins an equal distance from each other. Your wind spinner may need adjusted more than once to get it to spin properly. Remember, a swinging wind spinner means not enough air is getting through. Spread the fins farther apart. A non-moving wind spinner means the fins are too far apart, too much air is getting through. Move them closer together.

REMEMBER

Proper care for your lawn and garden decor will give you many years of enjoyment. Classic wind spinners bring movement and beauty to your garden and living areas, transforming them into a relaxing retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Lawn and garden decor also make fine gifts. If you need to shop for yourself or others, check out our fine collection at  www.windspinnersstore.com.
